Company Sony will let out a series of TVs for a reduced price

Company Sony intendw to increase sales of LCD-TVs at the expense of release of a new ruler more accessible at the price of models, informs DigiTimes referring to sources in the industry. A new series under letter B will be started in the beginning of 2010

In series B TVs with a diagonal of the screen of 32 and 40 inches will enter. Their cost will be more low, than cost of corresponding models of series S of initial level. Current cost of the 32-inch TV of series S (KDL-32S5100) in the USA makes $700, 40-inch model (KDL-40S5100) – $800.

Current financial year which comes to an end in March, 2010, Sony planned to selll 17 million LCD-TVs, however reduced this number as a result to 14 million pieces three times. High cost of TVs Bravia does not allow the company to compete on equal terms with such as Samsung and LG.

According to DisplaySearch, company Sony following the results of 2nd quarter 2009 has occupied 11,8 % of the world market of TVs of all types on gain volume. The company share for a year was reduced to 13 %. Share Samsung was reduced to 10 %, LG – has increased by 7 %.
