Australia can forbid plasma TVs

Results of the report prepared under the order of the federal government of Australia, show, that the growing demand for plasma and liquid crystal TVs considerably exceeds demand for traditional TVs on the basis of usual kinescopes. Authors of the report recommend to enter system of indexes of consumption of energy of devices of household electronics under name Energy Rating Labels. If such system will be accepted, the most part of plasma TVs will not be admitted to sale in Australia.

With the help of system Energy Rating Labels consumers will receive the full information on consumption of energy plasma and Lcd - TVs. If any device does not correspond to requirements Energy Rating Labels, it cannot get on counters of shops in Australia. In opinion of authors of the report, it is necessary to establish the maximal allowable limit for consumption of energy to leave on sale only the most economic models. If the government of Australia will approve this offer, practically all existing models plasma and even a part of Lcd - TVs will simply disappear from sale by 2011.
